| Set the potentiometer to the middle position or "6" . Position "6" works in 90% of vehicles. Now your vehicle is ready to be used with E85, gas, or any combination of the 2 fuels. If a check engine light comes on follow these trouble-shooting solutions and adjustments.... You can obtain the code for a check engine light by going to Auto Zone and asking for the code or purchasing an OBD II code reader ('96 or newer). Common codes... P0300/P0301-0312... Represents a misfire condition. When these codes occur it is usually a connector not plugged in properly or the male connector was not assembled properly. Please check all connections. P0171/P0174... Represents a lean condition. This means there is not enough fuel, potentiometer set too low. When these codes occur adjust the potentiometer slightly clockwise. Ex.. from "5" to "6". On vehicles older than 1998 check for a dirty fuel filter. After approx 600 miles if driving on E85 debris left from gasoline can break lose from the fuel tank and clog the fuel filter. P0172/P0175... Represents a rich condition. This means there is too much fuel, potentiometer set too high. When these codes occur adjust the potentiometer slightly counter-clockwise.
